GANGSTER OF LOVE

The Geto Boys are in my top tier of all-time favourite artists - thanks for asking, the others are 2 Live Crew, Biggie, and Tha Alkaholiks. While most GB tracks are about hood tales, they've got some funny as hell stuff too. This track falls into the latter category - Gangster of Love. There's quite a bit of history behind this one as there's two versions of it, basically they had to get rid of the Steve Miller Band The Joker sample used in the original version, so the track was re-released with a Lynyrd Skynyrd Sweet Home Alabama sample. FUN FACT: It's one of the few hip-hop tracks that uses the mighty "c word" - seriously, it's as explicit a track as you'll find. Wrap your ears around both versions of the track below, and look out for some more classic Geto Boys tracks here very soon!
