Due to the excitement of finding a fresh pair of Jordans in my size, here's a couple of tracks dedicated to everyone who gets a tingle in their nether regions when they get a new pair of shoes - Fresh New Kicks by Chingy feat. Mannie Fresh; and Sneakerpimpin' Ain't Easy by Weapon X & Ken Hell (now known as simply X & Hell, both of them are XO VIPs fo' life son). FUN FACT: The pic to the right was from a photoshoot for Explode magazine, which lasted for about four issues back in 2006. It was then reused in The Downlow, a Sydney club guide, soon after.

Life is great when you have a friend who works at a Footlocker. Kaylani - who you can find on this week's XO flyer, say hi to her if you're ever in the Pitt St Footlocker - found these Jordan 3s in my size (15!) in the FL basement today (one of the other sales assistants even asked where she found them when they came out of the box). They'll sit nicely alongside the other pair of Jordan 3s I've already got - and still haven't worn.

This follows on nicely from Push it to the Limit - it's a diss aimed squarely at Rick Ross after it was alleged he was a correctional officer in prison before he became a coke rapper. I don't care what everyone says though, I still roll with Ricky RAAAUSSSS. Oh, and for some reason the pic to the right came up when I did a search for Rick Ross images so I went with it. PUSH IT TO THE LIMIT

This could be the most motivational track of all time. It doesn't matter what you're doing, if you're listening to this at the same time you'll do it 100 times faster. I know Katt Williams said the same thing about Rick Ross' Hustlin', but that track doesn't hold a candle to Push it to the Limit (coincidentally sampled by Rick Ross for Push It) by Paul Engemann - you've probably heard it during the montage scene in Scarface.

I'm a big fan of using different samples and inspirations for hip-hop tracks, and this one doesn't disappoint. The track is B.H.O'z (ie. Boss Hogg Outlawz), by Slim Thug feat. Kyleon, Daily and Chris Ward. If you're over 30 and think the melody sounds familiar, it's because they've flipped the Creedence Clearwater Revival's Proud Mary.

No other Sydney club would think of launching a Lil Wayne album, which is kinda sad. Oh well, their loss! Working on another Lil Wayne megamix for the launch of Tha Carter III this Saturday at XO - I'm still slightly mad at Wayne for biting my CD artwork though (below)...


Check out what's possibly my favourite Lil Weezy track, Go DJ. In the States, this was his biggest hit before Lollipop. In Australia, almost every single DJ ignored it. Dickheads.

HOW TO ROB

Check this out, Freddie Foxx a.k.a. Bumpy Knuckles has gone out and recorded his own version of 50 Cent's How to Rob - which is my favourite 50 track of all time. Quick history lesson about this track - in the late 1990s 50 Cent was having trouble creating a buzz for himself in the music industry, so he released How to Rob, where he describes how he would rob successful rappers. This then created beefs with guys like Jay-Z and the Wu-Tang Clan, which in turn made more people aware of 50. Then he got shot nine times, was dropped from his record label, Eminem heard one of his street mixtapes, reached out to sign him and the rest is history. Anyway, Freddie Foxx has re-done How to Rob and he takes aim at most of the successful artists of today's era. FUN FACT: Foxx once had beef with a Sydney DJ. And I'm not telling you who it was.

How fun was XO last Saturday night? I got drunk but didn't wake up with a hangover, every track I played got a good reaction, and my Queensland State of Origin jersey was hated on. Not happy about this disrespectful s--t from MC Shyne below though!

This is a cool mashup that came out aaaaaages ago, was on a remix service called "Satanic Mashups" if my memory isn't totally shot. It's the acapella of 50 Cent's In Da Club over NIN's Closer beat (you might know the track better as the one that goes "I want to f--k you like an animal"). Next time you're at a goth club, ask your favourite industrial DJ to drop this one! FUN FACT: I used to be a regular at a few goth clubs years and years ago - I was the guy wearing a Hawaiian shirt and old school Cons, chilling with the goths. They're cool peoples!
